About Our Place Calderdale

Our social sessions are more than just meet-ups. They are lifelines. They are laughter shared over a cup of tea, friendships formed after years of loneliness, confidence rebuilt, and hope rediscovered. For many, these sessions are the highlight of the week — sometimes the only time they leave the house or feel truly connected.
But right now, we are facing one of our toughest challenges.
After 35 years of supporting others, the ongoing cost of living crisis is affecting us deeply. Like many small local charities, our usual fundraising streams are becoming harder to rely on. Costs are rising, donations are stretched, and yet the need for our services has never been greater.
That’s why we are launching this fundraiser.
Our initial target is £10,000, which will go directly towards keeping our social sessions running — covering venue costs, materials, refreshments, and ensuring we can continue to offer a warm, safe and inclusive environment for everyone who walks through our doors. Fundraising will be ongoing, but reaching this first milestone will give us breathing space and security for the months ahead.
Every pound raised is an investment in community, connection, and compassion.
If you can donate, no matter how small the amount, you will be helping us continue a 35-year legacy of care and belonging. If you can’t donate right now, simply sharing this page could make all the difference.
Together, we can make sure Our Place Calderdale continues to be exactly that — a place for all of us.
Thank you for believing in our community. 💛
